Every minute devoted to your critics is time stolen from your God–given assignment. Don’t step down to their level! It’s not what your enemies say that matters; it’s what God’s Word says to you when your enemies have finished talking that matters.

I needed to read this a couple weeks ago! I wasted 2-3 days being hurt, mad, and sad about what some critics had to say to me. I allowed critics to take time away from my God given assignment! Wow... When it's put that way it helps me keep things in prospective. "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (Colossians 3:23 NLT)"
The first person that comes to my mind from the Bible is Noah. Can you imagine what people had to say to him as he built an ark for 100 years with no sight of rain? Yet he stayed faithful and was obedient to what God called him to do.
Food for thought... Is their something God is calling you to do that others might not agree with? Would it be better to hear God say "well done my good and faithful servant" or what your critics have to say? Whose words matter most to you?
